The Chamberlain WD832KEVG is just like the WD832KEV, but the KEVG includes Chamberlain’s MyQ Internet Gateway. If you want to control this garage door opener with your smartphone, you need the Internet Gateway.
This Chamberlain belt drive model has been around and is time-tested. With outstanding consumer reviews, this is a great choice if you want a powerful, belt-drive, budget-friendly, quiet garage door opener you can control with your smartphone.
If you don’t care about the smartphone control, just buy the Chamberlain WD832KEV for a few dollars less. But . . . before making your “final decision,” consider the benefits of MyQ.
What’s MyQ? Picture yourself driving down the freeway about an hour away from your house. You’re going on vacation! Then it hits you. “I left the garage door open.” Ugh.
Not to worry. Just pull over, whip out your smartphone, and use the MyQ app to verify the status of your garage door. If it’s closed, be happy. If not, just close it with your app and get on down the road. Yeah!
Bottom Line: The Chamberlain WD832KEVG and it’s twin, the WD832KEV, offer the features and reliability you would expect from one of the best garage door openers of the last few years. With plenty of power, affordability, quiet operation, and the ability to control your garage door with a smartphone, this is a safe bet. Buy one at Amazon for the best deal. “Works great but a challenge to assemble correctly the first time.”
“Easy to install if you read the directions, it took 2 guys about 2 1/2 hours to complete. Also the unit is super quiet and has a lot of cool features, like myQ, and the external key pad. I’m very happy with my purchase.”

If I leave the garage door open, will it automatically close?
You can program the Timer-to-Close setting on your wall control to automatically close your garage door in 1, 5 or 10 minutes.
Is there a vacation lock to disable garage door remotes?
Yes. You can set your door control (the one mounted on the wall inside your garage) to “Lock.” This will disable remote access, but still allow you to use the door control from inside your garage. The keyless entry keypad outside your garage will also still work.

Yes. This model is equipped for a 7 foot tall garage door, but you can purchase an 8 foot belt drive extension kit or a 10 foot extension kit for taller doors.
Is there a fee for using the MyQ service?
No. Once you buy the opener, the service is free.
Will MyQ® tell me when my garage door is open?
If your garage door is open, the MyQ® app on your phone will show you it’s open and allow you to close it. Plus, if your garage door is closed and someone opens it, MyQ® will notify you.
Will HomeLink® work with my car?
It will work with most newer cars equipped with HomeLink®. However, some will require the addition of a HomeLink® Compatibility Bridge™. Go to bridge.chamberlain.com to see if you need it.
